RJD Rift Deepens: Rohini Acharya Questions Sunil Singh’s MLC Candidature (X)
Patna: Political turmoil has sparked within the party on Monday after the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) named former MLC Sunil Kumar Singh as its candidate for Bihar Legislative Council elections. Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and a party leader, shared a scathing post on social media, indirectly questioning the decision. Her post is being seen as a sign of discontent and internal divisions within the party.
On the final day of the nomination process, Sunil Singh filed his nomination papers at the Bihar Legislative Assembly in the presence of senior party leaders.
After the filing of nomination, Rohini Acharya, who is the daughter of Lalu Yadav, without naming anyone, expressed her displeasure over the party's decision.
Taking to X, she wrote, "Factionalism - internal sabotage - betrayal, deceit as its nature, collusion with opponents, using the pretext of closeness to inform and then extort - collect as its business, who, to show off his false bravado, sits party workers - office-bearers in front of him in the party office and makes vulgar - indecent remarks about sisters - daughters, how was such a person made a candidate "by him" himself, to whom Lalu ji had entrusted the responsibility of carrying forward the fight for social justice and improving the party? Have the dedicated - loyal workers - leaders been sidelined? Because of people like these, there is resentment - dissatisfaction among workers - supporters who have stood firmly with the party for years, and the damage caused by people like these was evident in the month of November of the past year.."

Rohini further claimed that his conduct towards party workers and office-bearers had often been appropraite and disrespectful.
In her post, Rohini also questioned whether the party is currently lacking dedicated and loyal workers and leaders. She stated that those entrusted with the responsibility of advancing the fight for social justice and strengthening the party are promoting individuals who are not. This is leading to growing dissatisfaction among grassroots workers.
This post by the RJD leader is being seen as directly linked to Sunil Kumar Singh's candidacy. Although Rohini did not mention anyone by name in her post, it is being considered a reaction to that decision in political circles. Her post comes at a time when political activity is intensifying in Bihar for the upcoming elections and parties are busy strengthening their organizations.
Rohini Acharya also stated that since the party's inception, there have been numerous dedicated, respected, and down-to-earth, staunch Lalu supporters who have stood firmly with the party, including minority leaders. These include senior and young individuals from Yadav, Dalit, backward, and marginalized communities. The neglect of these individuals is a matter of serious concern and certainly not in the party's best interest.
There has been no official response from the RJD to Rohini Acharya's comments. However, her post has once again brought the ongoing internal strife within the party and questions surrounding its leadership to the forefront of discussion.
